Editorial Policy
This page explains how Cab & Cargo researches, writes, reviews and updates its guides, where our information comes from, and the standards every article must meet before it is published.

The short version
- Every article is researched, analysed and reviewed by our team before it goes live.
- We check figures against several independent sources and show ranges, not single “magic numbers”.
- Money from ads or affiliate links never decides what we write or recommend.
- We update guides when prices change and correct errors openly.
Our mission
Cab & Cargo exists to give contractors, farmers, owner-operators and equipment buyers clear, practical and honest information about construction and farm machinery, especially the numbers behind it: what machines cost to hire, run and own, and how to price equipment work.
Every guide we publish should help a reader make a better decision on the job. If an article does not do that, we do not publish it.
Who creates our content
Cab & Cargo is published by KCS Global Group, an independent digital publishing company with an office in Risali, District Durg, Chhattisgarh, India. Our team of seven researches, writes, edits, reviews and updates every article on the website.
We publish under the Cab & Cargo name as a team, because every article is the combined work of several people rather than one writer. Responsibility for accuracy belongs to the whole editorial team. Learn more on our About page.
How an article is made
Every guide on Cab & Cargo goes through the same process before it is published:
- Topic planningWe identify the real questions contractors, farmers and equipment owners ask, and plan how each article fits with our related guides so readers get complete answers.
- ResearchWe gather information from multiple independent sources, including the types listed below, and note where each figure or fact comes from.
- AnalysisWe compare sources, look for where they agree and disagree, work out realistic ranges, and identify the factors that explain the differences.
- WritingWe write in plain English, answer the main question early, and explain terms that a newer reader may not know.
- Editorial reviewA second team member checks the article for accuracy, sources, clarity, completeness and safety before it is approved.
- Publishing and updatingWe publish with a clear date, then revisit the article as prices, models and conditions change.
Our sources
We rely on sources that are primary, current and relevant to the reader’s situation. We avoid relying on a single source for any important figure.
| Source type | What we use it for | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Manufacturers | Specifications, capacities, service intervals and operating guidance | Official manufacturer websites, spec sheets and operator manuals |
| Government and official bodies | Safety rules, regulations and official statistics | OSHA, USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service |
| Industry associations | Industry standards, safety materials and market context | Association of Equipment Manufacturers, American Rental Association |
| Rental companies and dealers | Published rental rates, prices and fees | Publicly listed rates and price information from rental businesses and dealers |
| Agricultural extension services | Farm machinery costs and custom-hire rates | University extension publications on machinery costs |
We link to key sources within articles where that helps readers check or explore the information further. We do not copy other publishers’ content, and we do not present estimates from others as our own original data.
How we research rates and costs
Machinery rates are our most important content, so they follow extra rules:
- Ranges, not single numbers. We show realistic low-to-high ranges because real prices vary.
- Clear conditions. We state what a rate includes, such as whether an operator, fuel, transport or attachments are included, and whether it is an hourly, daily, weekly or monthly rate.
- Explained differences. We explain the factors that push rates up or down, such as location, machine size, condition, season and hire length.
- Dated figures. We show when an article was last updated so readers know how current the numbers are.
- Honest limits. Our figures are researched estimates, not quotes. We always recommend confirming prices locally, as explained in our Disclaimer.
You can see these rules in practice in our guides to equipment rates per hour by machine and the mini excavator hourly rate.
Use of AI tools
Our team uses AI tools to support parts of our workflow, such as organising research, planning article structure and preparing drafts. AI tools never publish content on their own.
Every article is researched, fact-checked, edited and approved by our team before it goes live. Figures, specifications and safety information are always checked against the kinds of sources described above, and our team is fully responsible for everything we publish.
Safety content
Machinery can cause serious injury. When our articles touch on operating, maintaining or transporting equipment, we:
- Base safety information on manufacturer guidance and official safety standards
- Remind readers to follow the operator’s manual, proper training and local safety laws
- Avoid publishing shortcuts or workarounds that could put people at risk
Independence and fairness
Cab & Cargo is independent. We are not a manufacturer, dealer or rental company, and we do not sell equipment.
- Advertisers, affiliate partners and brands have no say in what we write, recommend or rank.
- We never accept payment for positive coverage or higher rankings.
- We describe the strengths and weaknesses of machines and brands fairly, based on research.
- Sponsored content, if we ever publish it, is always clearly labelled.
- Any free product or other benefit connected to an article is disclosed in that article.
How we earn money is explained in our Affiliate Disclosure and Privacy Policy.
Keeping content up to date
Equipment prices, rental rates, models and rules change. We review our guides on a regular basis, with extra attention to articles containing rates and costs, and update them when we find new information, price changes or reader reports.
When we make a meaningful update to an article, we change its “last updated” date. Small fixes such as spelling or formatting may not change the date.
Corrections
How we review reports, how quickly we act and how we show corrections is explained in our Corrections Policy.
Reader feedback
Many of our best improvements come from readers who work with machinery every day. If you have a real-world rate, experience or tip that could improve one of our guides, email contact@cabandcargo.com. For partnership or business questions, email info@cabandcargo.com.
